Yoga Teacher Continuing Education

Continuing Education for Teachers

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are an essential part of maintaining and advancing your yoga teaching credentials. These specialized training hours help you deepen your practice and expand your teaching skills. CEUs are documented hours of additional training and education that registered yoga teachers (RYTs) complete to maintain their certification with Yoga Alliance and other certifying bodies.

Why CEU’s Matter

  • Maintain Your Certification: Most yoga certifying organizations require teachers to complete a specific number of CEUs within a given time period to keep their credentials active.

  • Expand Your Expertise: CEUs offer opportunities to explore specialized areas of yoga, from anatomy and therapeutic applications to specific styles and teaching methodologies.

  • Enhance Your Teaching: Regular continuing education helps you bring fresh perspectives and refined knowledge to your students, ensuring your teaching remains dynamic and informed.

  • Professional Growth: CEUs demonstrate your commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.

Our CEU Courses

We offer a variety of CEU-eligible programs taught by experienced providers. Whether you're interested in advancing your understanding of yoga philosophy, deepening your anatomical knowledge, or exploring specialized teaching techniques, our courses are designed to support your growth as a yoga professional.

All of our CEU Courses include an additional Alumni Class that meets around three months following the weekend of study to support integration, understanding, and community.

10 Hour Continuing Education Course

Discover the profound teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and learn how this timeless classical yoga text offers practical guidance for navigating worldly responsibilities while cultivating spiritual growth and freedom from suffering.

Course Overview

This immersive study explores the Bhagavad Gita as both a text on dharma, meaning a guide for skillful action that upholds cosmic order, as well as a yogic text specifically designed for householder seekers, who are spiritual seekers with worldly responsibilities. Through this training, you will learn how the Gita transforms everyday life into yogic practice, offering a path to psychological freedom while remaining fully engaged in the world.

What You Will Learn

  • The structure and purpose of the Bhagavad Gita as a text for householders

  • Understanding the human condition of suffering and human potential for awakening from suffering

  • How to shift the relationship to psychological pain and suffering

  • How to apply the Gita’s teachings to modern life through the integration of spiritual practice with daily responsibilities

  • Sanskrit terminology and key concepts

  • Methods for integrating the Gita’s philosophy and wisdom into your personal practice and teaching in accessible ways

Course Components

  • The Context of the Gita within the Mahabharata

  • The Nature of Action: The first six chapters of the text explore the nature of action. What is action? What compels us to act? What is “good” action in the world, and action taken for the sake of spiritual growth? What is the human condition of suffering, as well as the human potential for liberation from suffering?

  • The Nature of Devotion: The middle six chapters of the text explore the nature of the Divine and our relationship to the Divine. Who is God? What is God? Do I have to believe in God? How do I have a relationship with the divine? What is this relationship like and what is the result of it?

  • The Nature of Knowledge: The final six chapters of the text explore the human mind, the field of suffering, as well as the field of awakening. What is the nature of the mind? What tendencies cause the mind to suffer more and thus cause the collective to suffer more? What attributes or values cause the mind to be more available to psychological freedom and spiritual growth?

  • Comprehensive manual with relevant verses and contemplation questions
